Munich is nice. And all the factories is only part of the story. The location is in Europe. The modern city has a small Bavarian town of anger, a fun loving people, excellent location at the foot of the Alps of Germany and low-key approach attractive for life.
The fact that it is home to many universities cannot hurt, either. The center is easily explored on foot, with pedestrian streets and a lot of disruption for shoppers and foodies. When your legs are tired, good public transportation makes it easy to get some of the many attractions of Munich, palaces, museums, galleries, parks and space (of course) beer. With an impressive number of annual festivals and events (some for a period of weeks), it is likely that at least one during your stay, keep your ear out for sounds of a carnival band.
Church of St. Peter’s offers a fantastic view, perfect for photos. You can see the Alps on one side, the Frauenkirche and Olympic tower only when clearly another. We have an alarming tour Olympic Tower (Olympiaturm) at Olympic Park for a panoramic view of Munich to get. Even with the cloud, it’s worth the ticket price.
Neuschwanstein Castle is about 50 miles southwest of Munich and is a must to see. Go to the bridge behind the castle to get the most amazing view. You can visits valuable runs and steep stairs, as the view of Bavarian Alps, castles and stunning surrounding lakes.
